Dr. Ganesh Iyer has been appointed president and chief executive officer, OctAlgos Therapeutics Inc., effective immediately. “We were incredibly fortunate to have attracted such a uniquely qualified executive as Dr. Iyer to lead Algos,” said Gary Smaby, Algos board chair and managing partner for Quatris Fund, the company’s lead investor. “Dr. Iyer possesses the rare combination of scientific expertise and business acumen needed to lead Algos in the deployment of the Company’s new service-based CRO model focused on assisting leading pharmaceutical companies in bringing their technological breakthroughs to the marketplace,” adds Mr. Smaby. Dr. Iyer was previously director of strategic analysis and business operations at MDS Pharma Services. Dr. Iyer has more than 16 years of strategic and business development experience with prominent companies, including ZymoGenetics/Novo Nordisk, Xcyte Therapies, SkeleTech, MDS Pharma Services and Microsoft. “I am very excited about joining Algos and look forward to working with an excellent team to achieving our mission and goal to become the premier preclinical in vivo pain research services company,” commented Dr. Iyer.
